5 Days Uganda Gorillas & Chimps Safari

Meet your safari guide in Kampala and begin the journey southwest. Stop at the Equator for photographs and the experience of standing across the northern and southern hemispheres. Continue through Mbarara for lunch before arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park and settling into your lodge.

Travel to Kalinzu Forest for a guided chimpanzee trekking adventure through the tropical forest. After the trek, return for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and abundant birdlife along the shores.

After breakfast, travel to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive in search of its famous tree-climbing lions. Other possible sightings include topis and buffaloes. Afterwards, continue towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the mountain gorillas.

Head to the gorilla trekking starting point for your briefing before entering Bwindi's dense rainforest. Trek with experienced guides until you locate your allocated gorilla family and spend precious time observing them. Afterwards, leave Bwindi and transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, begin the journey back towards Kampala and Entebbe. Stop for lunch in Mbarara or Masaka depending on timing before continuing to your final drop-off point, marking the end of your primate safari.
