15 Days Ethiopia Adventure Road Trip

Begin the adventure with an overland journey from Nairobi through the beautiful and constantly changing landscapes of northern Kenya. Spend two nights in the Marsabit region, allowing time to explore the sandy expanses of the Chalbi Desert and other nearby attractions before continuing north.

Continue past Gof Redo Crater and across the rugged Dida Galgallo Desert before entering southern Ethiopia. Travel through sections of the culturally diverse Omo Valley and continue towards Arba Minch, an area known for its natural springs and beautiful lakes.

The journey continues through Ethiopia's Rift Valley region, including experiences around Wondo Genet, Lake Hawassa and Shashemene. Visit Shashemene's Rastafari community for a cultural exchange and learn about its historical connection with Ethiopia.

Continue towards Lake Langano, passing additional Rift Valley scenery before travelling through Bishoftu, an area renowned for its crater lakes. From here, proceed to Addis Ababa for the next stage of the adventure.

Spend two days discovering Ethiopia's capital. Experience Addis Ababa's historical, cultural and contemporary attractions while also enjoying time for shopping and exploring the city's lively atmosphere.

The wider programme highlights attractions including Entoto, historical sites associated with Emperor Menelik and Haile Selassie, and the famous Mercato market.

Leave Addis Ababa and begin the return journey south using a different route. Travel towards Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia's renowned coffee-growing areas, and experience a traditional local coffee ceremony.

Continue through southern Ethiopia towards Moyale, where you spend your final night in Ethiopia before crossing the border back into Kenya.

Cross from Ethiopia into Kenya and begin the southbound journey through northern Kenya. Travel to Isiolo for an overnight transit stop and a chance to rest after the day's drive.

After breakfast, complete the final section of your overland adventure to Nairobi. Arrive with lasting memories of Ethiopia's cultures, cities, coffee traditions, lakes and extraordinary landscapes, bringing the 15-day journey to an end.
