Overview
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is the reason most travellers come to Kenya. Roughly 1,500 km² of rolling grassland in Narok County, it holds one of the densest concentrations of predators anywhere on the continent — and between roughly July and October, it hosts the river crossings of the Great Migration, when well over a million wildebeest and zebra move north from the Serengeti.
This three-day safari is the shortest itinerary that still gives you real time in the reserve. You arrive on day one in time for an afternoon game drive, spend a full day inside the Mara on day two, and take a final morning drive on day three before heading back — so you get four game-viewing sessions across two nights, including two sunrise and sunset windows, which is when the cats hunt.
You’ll travel with guides who know the Mara’s terrain and radio network well enough to position you for a sighting rather than chase one.
