Explore the distinctive landscapes and wildlife of northern Kenya on this 4-day Samburu, Shaba and Buffalo Springs safari from Nairobi.
The journey begins in Samburu National Reserve, where dry savannah, acacia scrubland, rocky hills and riverine habitats support wildlife adapted to northern Kenya. Afternoon, morning and evening game drives provide opportunities to search for Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs and numerous antelope and bird species.
Continue into Shaba National Reserve, a quieter wilderness characterised by rugged terrain, volcanic hills and open plains. The final safari experience takes place in Buffalo Springs National Reserve before the return journey to Nairobi.
The three reserves form part of the wider northern Kenya safari circuit and are connected by the landscapes surrounding the Ewaso Nyiro River. The existing Liz Explore itinerary includes three lodge nights, game drives in all three reserves, an optional Samburu village visit and an optional nature walk.
