HIGHLIGHTS:
6 Days Ethiopia Adventure Roadtrip (Omo valley to Addis) Travel to Addis via the Omo Valley by Road and return by flight.
The Omo Valley is home to the 14 unique tribes with rich cultural attraction and also a very scenic place to visit. We drive via the most beautiful part of Kenya and Southern Ethiopia and visit Arba Minch (40 springs), Wondo Genet, Shashemene, Lake Hawassa, Lake Langano and Addis Ababa.
Day 1 : Nairobi - Moyale
Today we have a very early morning departure heading North to Moyale on a long drive with an included packed picnic lunch on the way. We drive via one of the most scenic routes in Kenya with diverse sceneries and climate.
Day 2: Moyale - Arba
Minch. This morning we leave the border town and drive to the Omo Valley where we will briefly see some of the 14 tribes of the Omo valley on the way. We finish the day at Arba Minch town, named after the 40 springs found in the vicinity
Day 3 : Arba Minch
Awassa & Shashemene. After breakfast we visit the natural healing hot springs of Wondo Genet and then we have Lunch in Shashemene which is home to the repatriated Rasta community. We have an informative local interaction with the community and we also meet the international Reggae musician Ras Teddy Dan before heading to the lake side city of Awassa and capital of the Southern Nations. We explore the area and also enjoy a boat ride in the Lake.
Day 4: Awassa - Addis
Ababa. After breakfast we leave the bustling city of Awassa and head on to Addis Ababa on the way passing Lake Langano and the crater lakes of Bishoftu. We have a 2 hrs stop at Lake Langano for optional activities including horse riding, power boat ride, Mountain biking, Kayaking etc. We arrive in Addis late evening in time for Dinner and enjoy the nightlife of the city.
Day 5: Addis Ababa
Today we have a full day in Addis to enjoy a city tour and visit Africa's Largest Open air market, the Mercato.
Day 6: Addis/Departure Flight
Today after breakfast and check out we have some free time in Addis before the outbound flight back home. End of the trip.
An extension stay in Addis or further North is also a possibility that can be arranged. You can visit the Danakil Depression and Erta Ale, or attend the Timkat Festival in Gondar among other options.
